What the evidence shows in Seattle
We reviewed 22 SEO agencies in Seattle. Across 16 buyer needs they hold 716 ranked places, every one of them resting on work we can point to: a case study, a portfolio entry or a client review; 78 of those places are documented by someone other than the agency itself. 3 of 16 rankings hold enough documented evidence to be offered to search engines (Local SEO, SEO for Lead Generation and SEO for High-Ticket Services).
13 more SEO needs are published for Seattle but kept out of search until the evidence arrives: Ecommerce SEO, Content-led SEO, Enterprise SEO, SEO Consulting and 9 more. The closest is Ecommerce SEO, with 112 of the 5 agencies a ranking needs. We would rather show a short list than pad it with agencies that only say they do the work.

How a place in these rankings is earned
- A need page that still has fewer than ten ranked agencies after that is filled from the city's own agencies whose sources say they offer the need but document no project for it yet. They always stand below every agency with documented work, are labelled "Offers this service; no documented project on file yet", carry lower confidence, and do not count toward the threshold that opens a page to search engines.
- For an intent page, at least one claim on file supports the intent under the page's rubric, and at least one of those claims comes from a source outside Vendar. Our own service listings and profile tags describe the intent but document nothing, so they add weight to a vendor that already has outside evidence and never earn a rank on their own. Vendors without outside evidence appear below the ranking, unranked, never padded into it.
- Rank order is the score, highest first. Ties break on evidence points, then on the number of third-party claims, then alphabetically.
- Every ranked position explains itself from its score components and cites the claims behind them, with their sources.
The full method, including the weights and what closes a page, is published on the scoring page.
Seattle questions this page answers
- How many Seattle SEO agencies are ranked here?
- 22 SEO agencies in Seattle are under review. They hold 716 ranked places across 16 buyer needs, and 29 agencies appear in a top three. An agency is ranked for a need only when a claim on file documents work it did for that need.
- Why are some Seattle rankings missing from search results?
- An intent page is offered to search engines when its ranked list has at least five evidence-backed vendors (three when the city has fewer than twenty vendors for the service). Only agencies from the city itself (headquarters or a listed service region) with documented work count toward it: agencies filled in from other cities and agencies that only offer the need do not. A page whose list rests mostly on agencies from other cities is titled “agencies serving” the city instead of “best agencies in” it, says how many are local, stays on the city page and in its feed, and is kept out of search engines until enough local agencies document the work; otherwise the same national list would stand behind six city pages. Below the threshold even with outside agencies the page stays published with noindex, keeps its URL, links and feed, and is left out of the city page's list of rankings. A page whose top ten repeats 70% or more of another need's top ten in the same city, or has the same top three, also stays noindex while the stronger of the two is offered; it opens when the lists differ. The same holds across cities: of the pages for one need whose top tens share 70% or more, only the one with the most local agencies is offered to search engines. In Seattle that applies to 13 of 16 needs, Ecommerce SEO, Content-led SEO, Enterprise SEO, SEO Consulting, SEO for Marketplaces, Small Business and 7 more.
- How current is the evidence?
- 159 of 716 ranked places were re-verified within the last 90 days. The newest verification on this page is dated 2026-11-03. Every claim behind a rank links to the source it came from, so any date here can be checked.
- Do agencies pay to appear in these Seattle rankings?
- Paid visibility never changes the order of a listing.
